Warrior Dash

Collecting my warrior gear at check-in.  Everyone got these fabulous hats and "I survived the Warrior Dash" t-shirts.
 Proudly displaying our first mud!
 Taking on the junk yard!
Our running partners Sarah and Doug Donovan

We had so much fun running in our first Warrior Dash mud run/ obstacle course. I couldn't find Sarah's numbers; most likely due to the placement of her chip not being around her ankle.  I take full responsibility for slowing everyone down.  I just couldn't take the mud and they were all courteous enough to wait for me.

Overall placement out of 9621 runners on Saturday:
Jason #6183 58:23:90 16:41/m
Doug #6192 58:27:80 16:42/ m
Sarah was ahead of me.
Jennifer #6343 59:05:90 16:53/m

Placement by age group:
Jennifer #547/1022 (30-34 years old)
Sarah (based on our times I estimate her to be #615/1014)
Jason #786/1049  (30-34 years old)
Doug #832/1041 (25-29 years old)

The Zoo with Grandma Brown

Character Photos

Once again, Jenson was scared of the characters and Jacob was not interested in wasting his time standing in line for anything other than a ride. At least this time Jenson was willing to go to a parade as long as we promised the characters wouldn't try to touch him.  Jacob thought that was a good compromise.

Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain was one of Jacob's favorite rides.  Grandma looks genuinely terrified going over the waterfall! Jenson liked it until we got rear ended in the dark and he hit his head on the log.

Soakin up some vitamin D

Okay, so it was only 63 degrees, but it was the warmest day of the year to date.

Thrill Seeking Tradition!

Playing on the hill at Great Grandma Anderson's house. This is a childhood tradition dating back at least 30 years! Couldn't help but laugh...

Tiger Cub Scout

Jacob is very excited to be joining the family tradition of boy scouts. He is determined to become an Eagle Scout like his father and both grandfathers.
Jenson wishing Jacob good luck at his first Rain Gutter Regatta and first official cub scout meeting. He built his own boat there and won 1 out of 3 races.

Mid-Winter Break Snow Day

Wid-winter break brought a fun suprise...snow!
We took some time to build a snowman, go sledding and make tracks in the snow. What a great treat while just sitting at home.

Jenson #4

Jenson had a great time celebrating his birthday with family and friends. He got to go to Chuck E. Cheese with his Grandma Brown and Charlie's Safari with all of his friends. While he has not abandoned his love for Thomas, he is finally branching out to other toys. He loves super heroes and Super Mario Brothers.

Christmas Morning

Love this picture. It really captures their Christmas excitement this year.
Merry Christmas celebration hug with the proclamation,
"We were both on the Nice List! Good Job!"

Jacob asked for Dr. Who (Tom Baker) from Santa

Jenson desired Zip Zoom Log Adventure for 4 months. This track is based on his favorite Thomas the Train movie, "Rescue from Misty Island".
Every time we went to a store or talked to anyone about Christmas wishes, this was the only thing he wanted.
He has not played with it since this picture was taken on Christmas morning. It is still set up in the front room to entice him. (sigh)

The Elves and the Shoemaker

Jacob's class presented "The Elves and the Shoemaker" during their winter break party. Jacob played the role of the first elf and a member of the choir...
"Late at night, while they slept, through the doors four elves crept. They worked and sang too, as they finished the shoes. La la la, la la le, la la le, la la lu We will help the poor shoemaker and his wife too!"
Barbara Beihl whispered lines to the actors throughout the play. Due to hours of rehearsals at home, Jacob never needed prompting. He did amazing! So proud of our little thespian.

Snowflake Lane

Jason and a super sick Jennifer (pneumonia) at Snowflake Lane at the Bellevue Mall.
Jacob, Jenson and Sofia with their souvenirs.

Iceskating

Jacob, Jennifer, Cousin Sofia and Aunt Meghan hit the ice rink during winter break. Apparently, ice skating is like riding a bike; I was impressed with the mad skills of the moms!
